Hi all,
I'm new so intros first - name's Ben, 33, hailing from northern Tassie (just west of Launceston in a one-horse town), graphic/web designer turned sheet metal apprentice/CAD operator by trade.... and if the stars align appropriately I'll be purchasing my first Vitara this weekend.
Happy days indeed!

The example I'm considering is a '93 LWB JX with a little over 200K on the clock. It's a 1.6L so obviously I'm a little wary of cylinder head issues that - I'm told - can be an issue with this engine.
Other than the usual signs of gasket/head failure (milky oil, pressure leaks in the radiator, stained coolant expansion tank etc.), is there anything in particular to check out/be aware of?
Obviously I don't expect a vehicle worth only a few grand to be completely problem-free forever, but given my last car ended up being a dog precisely due to cylinder head issues, I'm not inclined to make the same mistake twice!
Many thanks!
Cheers, Ben.
