I know, I know this has been covered before and I have read many previous posts but just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

I had a small smokey problem previously that after a long engine braking, hit the accelerator at the bottom of the hill puff of smoke. Since I hate smokey engines with a passion. I had to do something.
Being after engine braking I was told valves/guides.
I did a compression check just to check rings OK.
Done dry and throttle wide open.
1. 195 psi
2. 195 psi
3. 195 psi
4. 195 psi
ODO 180,047
Appears to be OK.

Sourced a reconditioned head and swapped it over.
Got it back on the road and heaps more smoke than before. Oil level from full to low oil mark 160kms.
Read some posts and changed the oil from Penrite HPR 15 to HPR 30.

Still smokey during the Glasshouse run. Oil consumption less than before but still significant. 5mm from low oil mark 160 kms.
Did a compression test same as before.
1. 210 psi
2. 195 psi
3. 205 psi
4. 190 psi
Have only done 320 kms.
3 & 4 spark plugs very sooty.

Could the PCV valve be the cause of this?
If so how does it cause it?
Could it still be valves seals?
Can't really confirm what was done to the head other than new valves and machined mating surfaces.

Do you want to think about that?

Good to see you haven't changed your mind since Saturday.
