I used a mighty kong cradle, but many people have used the RT ring with great results too.
Go to the for sale section on outers, they are for sale there.

i haven't bothered to strengthen anything, occasionally i blow a mount, but i
have shitloads of them so i dont mind.
i recon a cheap part as the weak link is the go and it only takes 5min to change them.
i am a fairly sedate driver though so you hoons might have problems. :thefinger:

Go the RT ring, a cheap part that takes 5minutes to fix ain't a new case and new gears to go along with it. I don't think the lifetime guarantee would cover the whole case failing.

An ounce of prevention v a pound of cure.

I've seen people split cases with Series I and II Rockhoppers, 6.5 would eat them up at a very quick rate.

all the busted cases i have seen have had solid mounts. i haven't heard of a case failure when standard mounts are used.

I agree with Shep, I have had 6.5 gears for over a year now with no problems apart from a couple of busted mounts (weak link). I don't thrash the zook but do drive some tough tracks though. I also use the zook as a daily driver.

I highly reccommend the witches hat transfer mount.

Take one of the bolts which hold your front bar on, cut a couple of bits out of the base of a witches hat you found laying in the grass nearby, combine for one booty fab transfer mount that has been holding quite well that you couldn't be bothered fixing properly.
