Hi,

I got a leak at the front main seal after changingy timing belt and having to replace the timing gear on the crank. It losses a lot of oil when driving but not while idling.

I ended up getting the mechanic to replace the front main seal while getting a rwc and he said I had damaged the seal when levering the gear off. I thought I thought I was careful.

Now getting the car back the leak is still there but not as bad. I'm wondering if it may be a worn crank where the seal goes and if a speedy sleeve would be easy to install and if anyone has done that?

Regards,

Tim

What does your mechanic say when you told him it was still leaking?

He said the crank where the seal sat felt perfectly fine and he didn't think it was a problem. I do trust the mechanic but I'm getting to take another look. Just thought I would see if there was another thing that would cause the problem
