hello, I am thinking of doing some very basic mods to my 2010 5dr 2.4l suzuki grand vitara. I just wanted to do a basic 2" lift and bigger tyres. i saw a video on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8OTXMYrh8g) about using suspension spacers and I want to know if what he is saying is accurate, from what I have read most people say spacers are quite bad for your vehicle. It would be significantly cheaper and I dont want to spend over a thousand dollars on a lift kit.
Regarding the wheels, it comes stock with 225/70/r16 and i want to upgrade to 235/75/r15. would the 15" rims cause any problems? should I stick with 16" rims?
Also curious how difficult it would be to install diff breathers myself with limited knowledge. Along with this are there any basic mods that are recommended for these cars?
cheers

No, you can't fit 15" rims.

NGV's don't respond well to suspension lift. The front lower A arm bush design binds significantly and lift needs to be limited to 45mm in the front. I'd recommend waiting until you can afford a quality (i.e OME) suspension kit, but take into account you will loose flex. It's an unfortunate trade-off with independent suspension - more spring rate (i.e lift springs) reduce flex.

I would fit a good set of skid plates and drive the car.

I don't know if NGV's already have raised breathers or not -if they do, it's easy job to extend them to up on the firewall. If they just have caps on the housings, that's a little bit more work, I'm sure someone with a NGV will chime in.
