Might be handy for some, plenty of ways of doing this so it's far from gospel. I went this way so I could run an optima for winching duties, and squeeze a compressor and fuse block beside the brake booster.

First up is to make space on the inner passenger side gaurd, to do this the radiator over flow and wiper washer bottle both need to be relocated.

Gently remove the radiator spot welds, and trim the bracket back as per the photos below. It then fits neatly in beside the airbox with a nutsert.

The washer bottle is a little trickier but easily replaced with the bottle from an ABS model that sits inside the inner gaurd.

This may become an issue when I go to bigger tires, time will tell.

I made a bracket to hold my VSR off the strut brace, used because I found it in my shed.

Bashed in inner gaurd mostly flat and made a tray to hold the optima. used factory bolts/captive nuts for the the tray mounting.
Re-ran the starter and charging cables(this was painfull doing it neatly) And no detailed photo's of either sorry, next time I pull the battery I'll edit the post.

Optima red top on the gaurd, and 130ah N70 in the stock position....

This is scarily like what I did with my car - in 2005.
Rad coolant expansion bottle same spot, picked up off the air cleaner mounts.
Have a small twin cyl air compressor between air cleaner & ABS brake valve block.
Kept the original large washer bottle (1999 car), but backed it up against the P/S headlight, with a bit of bracket dickery.
The only tyre clearance issues I had on the front with 225/75R16 BFG A/Ts was chassis rub at the back of the tyre on full lock. Now have 245/75R16 BFG M/Ts + 15mm bumpstop spacer (needs to be a bit bigger!) & I've had to remove the guard liner permanently, belt that vertical seam flat, modify wheels to have a 6.5" wide hoop instead of 7", cut sheet metal out from the front of the arch (under the headlight area), trim the plastic flares her & there & they still rub when loaded up. Moral is be happy with 225/75R16!!
Mounted (originally) Matson VSR on a bracket off the strut brace - now has manual battery change over switch, for emergency linking / jump starting.
Started with an Exide 'Orbital' (sort of same same as an Optima, but not rated quite as highly, as in 50A/hr in this 10" size, compared to 55A/hr for Optima D34) on it's side, as aux. battery.
Subsequently, changed to red top optima & used as cranking, with Exide 95A/hr "Stowaway" wetcell 12" (N70) as aux. in factory location.
Starting to get very busy under the bonnet!.

Thanks, I effectively copied B4T's set-up. would of been done not long after yours. So can't take any credit other than the write up.
