Hi, have a 1994 Vitara G16A with carby. Rebuilt brake booster, keeps filling with fuel. Sump oil also smells of fuel, and seems to have risen. Can't seem to find a fuel regulator, or information on intake manifold. Car has new petrol pump, did it before and after. New water pump, starter motor, spark plugs, leads and distub cap. Just found cam timing was out one cog, so that's fine. Seems to run fine, but rich with black smoke. Suggestions please. Cheers Darrell Ps. I'm newbie, this is my son's car, just got his P's.

Maybe sunk float/dead needle?

There's no external fuel pressure reg, that's built into the pump. Maybe that's putting out to much pressure?

Thanks sideways
Had a mechanic rebuild the carby, but I noticed some gaskets didn't appear to be have been replaced..
He did show me 2 diaphragms that were in poor condition, think I will ask him about float, assuming he changed needles.

Wow that's odd.
Did you have the booster vacuum hose replaced.
I have just recently rebuilt my g16a and had an absolute ball finding a new hose with non return valve for the booster to manifold line.
