I'm not gonne get in to THAT debate.. However, on my 94 R22 powered 2wd Hilux workute, I ran a 215/75R15 (101 L.I.) tyre, with a TripleM aluminium tray, no sides most of the time. In other words, really really light on the back axle. I experimented with pressures at 25 psi in the rear (45psi front) tryes.. The ride, strike that, the handling went way down. It felt horrible to drive, but at 30-35, great. And 65psi if I loaded her up. The jimny is lighter in the back than the front yet suzuki still recommend 23 front and 26 rear unloaded and 23 front and 29 rear loaded. Yes the placard has staggering pressures (GCC spec, no idea if Aus is different). I would hazard a guess that the staggered pressures with the increase in the rear is for onroad handling and to make the car spin instead of rolling because of what happened in the states with the sierra.

^^ This.
I run more in the front than the rear purely to lighten the steering. I have about 26psi front and 22psi rear in my 31s and it takes corners at 50km/hr. I could run lower pressures to get a softer ride, but it corners and steers like a pig with the increased tyre roll / bounce.
When i did the lane change test it had 40psi in the tyres so it rode super stiff and even got tail happy at the end =)

We messed around deflating q78 swampers on a SWB Sierra years ago.
We deflated by eye until front and rear bagged equally. Front was at 2.5psi, rear at 1.5.

We deflated by eye until front and rear bagged equally. Front was at 2.5psi, rear at 1.5. Interestingly enough I met some very old school locals in the desert one day. The don't use a tyre pressure gauge! Their method is when tire is at road pressure, hold 2 fingers (index and middle) next to the tyre and put a can of coke to mark the gap. They then deflate until the tyre touches the can. Their favorite tyre was a Michelin apparently only had 5plys very soft, bagged well useless anywhere but sand.

I deflate to equal pressure offroad though, as on a climb there is a ton of weight on the rear (literally lol) - so it doesn't make sense to deflate for weight distribution when it's going to be sent all over the place anyway.
I think the correct word is "compromise" =)

So I got them fitted today, took them for a drive, not bad for a cheap tyre! They look the goods too. And it turns out they do have side biters, just not largely visible in the photos.

R.I.P. Kor3y101 the retard who didn't buy 10 ply Toyo's for his sierraThey look good! Better in real life it seems. If they have a 104 load index (taken from earlier in the thread) that's not bad for a bigger tyre. Hope they work out well for you.

Another tyre choice that seems to work well - although not as cheap as the Firenza deal you got, is the Federal Couragia M/T - the 30/9.5R15 has the same spec. (104 load rating = 900kg ea.) 6ply, with Q speed. These bag out well on a Sierra, at low pressures (10-12psi) but cost around $180ea + rims. Rgs, Michael

Ahh Yes, I made the wrong decision and didn't get 10 Ply. Doh! Haha. Yeah, they do have a load index of 104 so it's not too bad for a 30".
I'm sure they will be fine, it's a light Sierra so nearly any tyre is going to work well (assuming correct maintenance and pressures etc)
The Couragia is one I looked at, Greenzook89 runs them in 235's and they work well and bag up nicely. But as I was on a tight budget, I had to go cheaper. I'm happy with my decision though.

So for anyone interested in how they've turned out. I've been out wheeling a few times and they perform really well! Mud isn't much of an issue now and they bag out well and conform well to terrain. I'm happy as with them.
