Hello all,

I'm looking at buying a roof top tent for a trip to the cape. Want to keep costs to a minimum so have narrowed it down to eBay options.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/111166143814 ... EBIDX%3AIT

Something like this would be good, although maybe one of the 1.8m variety.

Do any of you have any experience with these or something similar?

Do you have any other recommendations for camping options? Wife prefers the roof top idea because she is paranoid about crocs and I like the idea of easy set up/pack up for multiple camps.

Good advice Sco-tie. But I forgot to mention its for a dual cab triton. Would be an interesting set up on a sierra though haha.

I've seen them on a jimny and I made sure I left well after they did. Bigger cars are no worries especially with a ute suspension to reduce roll

I ran a Treking Oasis on my LWB. Weighs only 17kg and I had to make up a rack to mount it. I chucked a double self-inflater in too and it was comfy as.
