Changing the bush for gear stick and now the selector rods are stuck and wont get into neutral any ideas? tried using a long screw driver but with no luck

Keep using the long screwdriver champ. The bigger the better. Get it in the slot and give it a good twist. There may be a proper way, but that has worked for me in the past. Until I lengthened the gear stick, after a body lift, it jumped between gears frequently.
