Which CT20?

The CT20 from the 1GGTE would be a little small in my opinion.

There's some other trims though.

I have a pair of 1GGTE CT20 turbos and as a single they are a reasonable upgrade for a 660cc triple, but I reckon they're out of flow at around 110hp. That's probably too small for a 1.3 as a healthy 1.3 is already at near 70hp.
it seems that stock 1GGTE's seem to top out around 220hp on stock turbos from what I've seen.

They're getting old though, and a rebuild looks to cost about $1K.

Steve.

When selecting a turbo you should consider the power output of the vehicle and match it to your needs instead of engine capacity as G-wagz was implying.

~100Hp outta the 1.3 would be a nice ~40% power up and should be reliable. At least the ct20 should come on boost quite early.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I think it might be a bit out of my league to get it to work properly so I might just try the transfer case gear upgrade to get a bit better gearing for it on and off road.

It's a coilly (don't sting me hehehe) running 235/75/15's and it revs high in low range 1st and won't engine brake at all going downhill. I know the turbo wouldn't have fixed that I was also trying to chase a bit more power hehehe

Cheers

It would give a good low and midrange hit but run out of puff in the top end. Having experimented on small turbos on big engines before I think it would be a lot of fun. I ran a stock rb20 turbo on a na rb30 and loved it. Made no power past 5500rpm but was amazing around 1500-4500rpm.

So you won't make much extra power in tot maybe 30hp but at 3000rpm you will have tripple what you have now! Would make it fun to drive

Triple? My guess is a Sierra makes about 40hp at 3k. You're claiming 120hp? really?

I am not claiming 120hp at 3k as I seriously doubt a Sierra makes 40hp at 3k. My guess would be around 25-30. I think most of the turbos power would be on by 3k and it will be out of puff earlier and slowly bleed boost.
