Since I don't really want to remove my rear seats, I knocked up a small boot platform over the weekend to make the boot space flatter and give a little bit of space under it to store small, loose items.
I used the 25.4mm Connect-it aluminium with plastic connectors from bunnings and 4mm thick aluminium composite cladding. I put some felt on either end to hopefully stop more scratches on the plastic and I plan to cover the composite sheeting with some rubber matting.

Jim, I haven't removed any part of the rear seats, just folded them forward.
But from memory, I think you can just pull up each corner of the seat cushion and it un clips.

Cheers mate. Its quite hand for stashing small bits and pieces under, maybe recovery gear or tools etc.

I think that Japanese one was around $180 excluding delivery costs. Mine was about $50 all up, but you could probably do it for less.

Good idea, might do this too. Did you attach it to the boot anywhere to stop it bouncing around or does it stay pretty stable?

I didn't attach it to the car anywhere, it might be ok just sitting there, but I have my fridge tied down on top of it so it can't go anywhere.
The blue blanket is just a throw rug thing that I use for a sort of drop sheet to cover the back seats and keep the back clean when I'm chucking dirty or sandy gear in the back.
