Do the tie downs on the door frames let water in where they stop the seals from contacting the body?

it does not interfere with the door rubbers. this is how allot of older cars had roof racks mounted to the gutter rails the rack would sit into the gutter rail and had an L shaped bracket clamped up underneath its basically the same set-up modified to suit the vitara (no gutters)

pretty sure the old style of racks with the L shaped brackets didn't require holes to be drilled. :?

yes not at all like the rail rack system u dont drill any holes for that either and its 100% reversible and also u dont need to remove the roof liner or anything to put it on in fact it just sits there like a big magnet its magic just naturally attracted to the roof

what the hell is everyone on about? he's fabricated something himself instead of putting dollars into them money hungry 4wd shops.
good on him, and seriously, IT'S NOT A LEXUS !!! who cares about a few imperfections?
if it works for you then good on ya!. corrogations?? I really don't think any suzi owner would take their funbox that far into the outback it's going to run into those sort of problems
