suzuki sierra 89 WT softtop stock everything

parked my car this morning and turned it off, then realised the red oil and battery lights are staying on as if the ignition is in the on position.

i started the car and tried to turn it off again then it wouldnt turn off so i had to stall it. but my radio turns off when i turn the key off?

any ideas?

Defective key switch or a wiring short - the radio is usually on a separately switched accessory feed.

Dunno what WTs have but most japanese cars of the era simply have a rotary switch on the back of the ignition barrel. It should be fair easy to get to but might have tamper proof screws. Pull this off, swap it with one from another Sierra and you'l be good to go, won't have to change the keys or anything.

Alternatively you can get universal ignition barrels for quite cheap.

Ok cheers I have filled it with wd40 so ill see if its just water or crud in the barrel. Otherwise ill start fiddling haha
