I had a few heavy loads behind my Sierra including a similar sized tinny. I did a trip to Fraser with somewhere in the range of 400kg behind it and four people on board, like you say... common sense required.

Anybody tow a couple of jet skis behind a Sierra?

I don't think I would. Maybe-maybe if it was braked.

The boat ramp could pose problems with traction, jetskis being heavy and a sierra being light.

G'day, I tow my 4.4 metre tinny on trips up to 350 km each way and have no dramas, admit that I cruise on 110 and not 130 but it does well. The fuel use does increase but it is still better than anything else I have owned even with that increase.
Like every trip it is your call on how safe you drive.
Have a good evening.

You cruise on 110 kpm in a sierra towing a 4.4 mtr tinny for trips up to 350k so I can assume you also have a fair bit of gear as well??? You running a commy V6 transplant???

Not sure about the weight of his tinny, but I have towed my camping trailer (around 450kg loaded) across the Nullabor and up to the top end of WA using a stock G13BA. Sat on 100-110kph in 5th most of the way depending on headwinds, and got it up to 125kph in 4th overtaking roadtrains. That was with 2 people, 2 dogs and a fully loaded Zook.

While the trailer actually tows very nicely and in some ways seems to tame the roadholding of my Zook, I wouldn't be advising towing anything heavier or more subject to wind sway. Sierras just are not heavy enough to put anything big behind them sensibly, hence their 450kg towing limit.

I cant find the tow rating anywhere for my NZ registered Samurai. But I have towed a few different loads with it on my 8x4 trailer, e.g Moving house oh and a trailer of dirt, without any drama's apart from being a bit slow. Stopping isnt much of a worry but then theres not enough road to get it up past 80kph when towing. Also the longest distance I would have covered would be 50km.

Once towed a Mitzi lancer on a dolly with a Ford Laser, now that was interesting/dodgy !!!!!!!!!!

Negative to having seen NZ roads. Some of ours are flat as a tack though, get what you mean there.
