EDIT: forgot to mention a had to by 20 meters of the stuff and now have heaps left, if someone want to come and pick some up to make one for themselves feel free, i live at Terrigal, NSW

Was looking at making PVC snorkel because it suited my low budget, however i had heard some bad things about them such as exploding when hitting trees etc. Instead.. i did something cheaper but potentially more dodgey and went and bought some agg pipe from Bunnings. this is the result..

Just zip tied it to my light bar and added another 2 to put an angle on it to keep the rain out. put same mesh over the top to keep out anything else that might want to get in there

I wouldn't have snipped the tag off the cable ties cos then they would look proper dodgy.

As far as dodgey snorkels go it doesn't look too bad! How is it attached to the A pillar?

haha thanks. It's just held on with a cable tie around my light bar  but i suppose it also means it wont damage anything if it gets ripped off. Was thinking of putting a couple of dabs of sikaflex down the A pillar to stop it moving around

where it goes through the inner guard, get some vacuum hose & run a cut along the length of the hose & slip it over the over the hole you cut in the metal so it's not going to wear a hole in the tubing.

good idea, i ran i good bead of sikaflex around it but vacuum hose would probably work better

Have you disabled or plugged up the warm air inlet on your air cleaner. Defeats the whole purpose if it can still get a gut-full of water from there.

It helps the motor warm up in places that experience very cold temps.

Not really. It doesn't have to be below freezing to ice a carb - Ice will form below about 2-3˚C, all the more so with fuel acting as a cooler.

Here in Java Indonesia, the only pipe like that black one you guys use is Toilet Poop Pump Out Pipe & it very strong for bashing thru the jungles here& is very recognizable as poop pipe...it is Very Bright Light Blue. My mate has made & fitted it to His LJ80 & now he has a new nickname & so does his rig. Bahahahahaha !
