Cheers mate!

Now to sort out this mess for the PCB layout.

Over 150 components to fit on a board that measures 85x100mm. Rum times ahead!!

I will admit that I have not read the whole thread, and that a lot of it is way over my head.
But this is all insane! And you are clearly a very switched on guy (the bundy talk gave it away :-p). Kudos for going to the extra effort and not just piecing a megasquirt kit together with diyautotune parts.
Anymore updates?

Brain has been bleeding out from PhD over-thought and thesis writing. Not fun!

Update wise I've done a heap more on the PCB layout and have been picking Rhinoman's brain quite a bit. Still not happy with my crank trigger interfacing circuit so I have traced out the one's from both a baleno and vitara ECU. Now I just have to figure out one that will work for me.

Home made cam sensor is mounted and works quite well. Temperature sensor it also complete and working. I'll grab some pics.

Sloooooooooooooooow progress as uni has my hands tied pretty tight atm :(

Grabbed a few pics of how the cam and temperature sensors turned out.

Image
Cam sensor mounted in sprocket cover
Image
At the moment the cam sensor triggers from the holes in the sprocket but I need to make up a thin steel plate with 1 hole so I can get a single pulse for cylinder synchronization
Image
Turned out fairly neat!
Image
Temperature sensor epoxied into its housing. Just need to drill into the head above the cam to mount it

It looks to me like the hole pattern in the sprocket is asymetrical so you should be able to sync up on that.

I guess I could give syncing that sprocket up as is. Shouldn't be too much more processor overhead, I hope!

Did you end up receiving my emails with the 60G ECU VR input conditioning circuit I managed to trace and probe out? A few Q in there.

Yes, I'll have a look at that circuit later

The start of something potentially dangerous 8)

I now have a 0-11000RPM hi torque variable speed source thanks to Red89 and gvzookdriver! It works and didn't let all the magic smoke out nor try to bite me!
