How did you get that thru council?

Have you heard about the timber framing code? They give you span tables for stuff like that, 140 x 35 wont span 6metres

Just hope it stays up long enough so you can reinforce it some way.

Lol scared you didn't i, she isn't finshied yet, got acro props under it for the time being untill I finish welding the I beams up and I'm going to run a block and tackle off it or lifting my pressure cleaner on and off the trailer/ truck then to to top it all off it's getting a coat of Jaspa cool roof so I don't break a sweat when working under it

And the angle grinding was safe, clamped the sheets together AND used the guard on it and as for instant dismissal the other half has already said she is moving my stuff out of the house and into the shed lol

not sure if this is the correct spot to play this, but this is what we build at work. I didnt build this particular engine but have build them before, i just set this one up for dyno. Dont remember the exact power figure but it was rather impressive, When you hear me say "that is good" at the start im talking about how quiet the engine is. I walked in at idle without ear protection and could talk to the person next to me!
engine is a QSK50 MCRS (Modular Common Rail System) V16 50L

As I am renting in my current house, the only way to use my projector was a stand as i wasn't allowed to mount it too the roof/ceiling but the screen was plausible. Pretty solid base i have made so far. It is still in the making, so bare with me for the final piece...
Drilling and cutting in my backyard at quarter to 1 in the morning, I don't think the neighbors are happy with me but i don't have a shed

That's a tiny projector but looks like you get a good clear picture from it but, what size screen can you get?

Yeah it does, eg: qsk60 is a 60 litre. Same for the qsk50. I thought, there isn't an engine thread and this something that I build, I couldn't find a thread about stuff we do at work. Can remove it if needed.

The screen i am using is only 1.5m wide and i have this set to a screen ratio of 4:3. The standard for HDMI is 16:9 which i cannot use as i would need a 2.5m screen. That would be great but the wall is not wide enough
Even on this ratio and distance, i had a bit of trouble adjusting it as the projector only has a limited amount of built-in settings, so this may have to do for now. Maybe see if i can buy some sort of ext adjuster.. I'll figure something out hopefully and size doesn't matter

Mine does the job quite well and is easy to move around - It's about 4kilos

I'm a bit concerned that with it being so tall, even with the base as big as you made it- it might be prone to tipping over if knocked.

How about getting a bag of lead shot from a gunshop and pouring the loose shot inside the stand to give it some more stability.

There are a couple of gunshops in the northern suburbs- hunters den in joondalup, and shooters shed in wangara, both should have lead shot in tubs of 10kg or so.
Wouldnt matter what size shot for what you are doing.

Couldnt say how much shot costs these days, I only load solid slugs that I cast out of wheel weights and scrap lead.
Whatever the shot cost- it wil be heaps cheaper than buying new projector.

That was the first thing i thought of when making this. It is stable as and doesn't even pick up the vibrations from the subwoofer in the room. Also it wouldn't be possible to tip forward as it would just rest onto the back of the couch. Pretty stable with not falling side-ways or back as the base goes under the couch. But if anything gets unstable, i have some 5kg weights lying around
Also what isn't shown, are are the 4 big screws i have going up through the walls of the stand from the base

Added a bit more to the stand. Only about 50% done and wiring is not yet complete

The bricks out the back needed re-laying as the owner didn't concrete the edges, so i fixed them up and started on a little path towards the clothesline.
Not bad for someone who had never laid bricks before.

Simple job, but came out so well!

The 5 dollar wall clock we bought from Ikea 10 years ago finally died, so I built the missus another one out of some recycled timber I scored at work, and about 30 odd stainless/mild nuts. Came out friggen awesome for about an hours worth of work.

Oh yeah, the parts that touch the wall have stick-on cork protectors so it doesnt have scabby wood touching the walls.
