Well that settles that then, I thought from all my research.that they had been turned into a soft roader, really want to upgrade to something newer but with similar abilities to my current vit, oh well may have to change brands, don't want too but want something a bit newer than the the vit,.

but you do drive a LJ so i believe you're goal posts are further apart than the average joe.

for a tourer & soft roading they'll be fine for what little 4wding there is in SA, the bosswomans GV3 did alright in the sand & did all the dirt tracks in coffin bay national park etc.

i guess i define off roading as this.
Image

for beach driving, or fire trails, a little bit of lift and some good tires i suppose they will be ok.
no such thing as lockers for them though as far as i know

It wouldn't b a match for ur sv620 though would it, even if u did mod it up a bit, I just wanted something that could tow a little bit more load and b as good as the vit off road and be a bit more comfier and safer to put a couple of the kids in the back.

the older GVs tow just as much as the JB or JT

you can get lockers for them. good after market.
2.5 V6 is a good motor.

thers just not any good reasons to go to a JB
pick up an 04 SQ625 and you will be happy i think

^^^ as tanshi said get on the SQ625 bandwagon, they're coming down in price to so you could spend the price difference between a GV & GV3 on some nice mods

don't like the shape at all especially the front end, might just try and find a good sv620 in auto, better for offroading than manual,I'd rather that than the bubble machine!

The way i see it it there are prob more options out there for the Gv over the Vit. Most of the Vit suspension and driveline products can be made to fit the GV. On a plus side the V6 Gv has heaps more power, Has better options for diff ratios, are way more comfy and can tow alot more.... Oh and did i mention they have heaps more power....

Your other options are Nissan Terrano, Jeep Cherokee, Challenger, Pajero IO.......

the power difference isn't that bad if you've got a SV620 & you can bolt on all the vitara parts you want, it's still going to look like a jelly bean :thefinger:

Anyways just for curiosity I.went and checked out this 05 gv today, did drive nice on road and had nice interior, but underneath didn't look like it would be able to.deal with too much, what a piss ant little.diff in the back! And yeah Atari not a fan of the bubble machines remind me too.much of those piss weak little Mazda 121 bubble cars that came out years back my sister had one! At least sv620s look tough, the jelly bean machines are always going to look, let's say, gay!
