Seeing as Ill be keeping my zook for atleast another few years I wouldnt mind fitting air con to it to make it more comfortable for the Mrs and so I can keep my windows closed on hot dusty days instead of roasting and letting all the dust in.

I have tried searching for a kit but cant find anything? Would i Have to salvage it from a wreck? any idea what the damage would be cost wise if it has been done before??

Yep, someone coming to check it out Tuesday, so I can give you a yell if I've still got it after that.

Was all the components taken out of another Vit. Having just removed it I'm a bit pissed at how much it cost to get it installed - it's pretty straightforward.

Didn't last long cold, consensus seemed to be that the compressor was shagged. Got it regassed a couple of times and it would be cold for a day or two then conk out again. I'm selling the kit with another secondhand compressor, hopefully better.

Was an expensive exercise, but I didn't have the knowledge to do it myself. Working AC in the new car is pretty sweet though.

AC is a pain in the ass, you only need a bit of old gunk stuck somewhere and it will stuff the compressor, and you cant just clean it out
buy a setup from somebody, get a new compressor, evap, drier and condenser and get it all fitted up by somebody that knows what they are doing.

yeah I agree with rocye there, best way to go about it, of course you can do it the typical zook tightass way with second hand compressor etc and HR12, but all bets are off on how long it will last, mine had a non-working aftermarket in it when i bought it, and I just stripped it out, even though I'm qualified, capable and licenced to do the job, didn't think it worthwhile on the vit
