Boxer engine would have to be wider than the clearance between chassis rails? Measure it up, I'd be amazed if it would fit but would love to see the potential.
I think Gwagen has done the measurements and confirmed it to be impossible to fit into the engine bay for what would be a suitable conversion. Just put a commodore motor in you know you want to .

I'd rather out in a 1L than a commodore motor!!!! Time to get a g16b. My mate has an auto lwb bit for sale at the right price, will the auto fit in a swb sierra??
An EA81 or EA81T motor should fit been much narrower pushrod etc. I fell in love with the older pushrod subey engines due to their indestructibility and power when supercharged. A speedway one blew away Fontana and top racers years ago on methanol and a hillclimber did the same to much more sophisticated bike engined setups on a few QLD hillclimb events.

considering it's running an aftermarket ecu, i doubt they'd tack on a bee-r limiter, but yeah it would be an ignition cut rev limiter. the big fire balls is just unburnt fuel getting ignited in the exhaust from when he lifts off.

a rotor if looked after like anything mechanical will last, 2 mates have rotors that were built in the early 90's & neither of them have had any of these so called "longevity" issues, one is a 12a extend port & turbo & the other is a 13b bridge port.

If I use the HP calculation of torque x rpm / 5252, working back from that Dyno sheet that car is producing max HP at around 1800 rpm. If that is correct that its heaps of torque and I will eat my own words.

ha i researched the shit out of this a while ago, might have even posted some links in the rotor in a sierra thread... they have more pull across a larger rev range and I think even starting lower? maybe? than a g16.

The dont they idle at 2g? I think you will find that any rotary making good power AND torque from down low will be lumpier than a stroker and there for pointless in a 4wd.
