Hi all,

This site has been of a great help for me; therefore I would like to thank you for all the tips and suggestions.
I am looking for a bullbar and toolbar for my 2000 Jimny.
Currently looking on ebay but nothing in there.
Any advice in terms of model, place to buy, etc?

once again thank you for all your help.

J

There are basically 4 main types of bullbar available for the Jimny.

ARB (http://www.arb.com.au/products/arb-prot ... s/3424030/):

JML (http://auszookers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=20147):

XROX:

MIC (http://www.micoffroad.com/):

* Second hand ARB bars come up on ebay from time to time just watch out for the different mounting brackets (see http://auszookers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=22723). There's also a non-winch version that suits the 2005 and earlier models only.
* The JML bars look really neat. I probably would have gone this way if they were available when I was looking and joeblow is really helpful.
* I don't know much about the XROX bars, I'm not really into the tube bar look on a Jimny.
* MIC offroad used to advertise on ebay not sure if the still do. Apparently if you email them they will make anything you need but you may have to wait a few months.[/list]

When I was looking for a bar I posted a wanted ad on Gumtree. Its free and I ended up beig contacted by someone who was selling an ARB bar for the right price so I bought it. Otherwise be patient and one will pop up on ebay or you may just have to bit the bullet and buy new.

- Tim.

Made to order, just ask. They are just a bit thick when it comes to advertising stuff they make.

Can confirm MIC dont do an alloy bar anymore.

Their response:
No, we don't sell that one anymore. If you want, we have last steel one with winch mount in stock. But it will go soon.

I bought the last one from MIC.

It requires cutting off of the bumper brackets. Spacers, as the brackets are 30mm wider than the tie down points on the chassis rails they bolt too. Bolts on front are supposed to line up with a hole (no idea which Jimny's have them there) it just goes in to a large slot on the face of the chassis rail on mine.

I have contacted them to see WTF they were thinking.

MIC front bar fit's my 2008 model year pretty near perfect. Grinder came out once to shave about 1mm off something, and yeah you have to cut the front out of the jimny plastic inner arches. - pretty standard practice anyway.

But yeah, it doesn have a couple of oddball features, 1) pre-drilled winch mount holes are spaced to a stupid size that few winches come in, so you got to drill your own new holes, no mount for the winch guide, so you have to add another winch plate over the top, and then you start to run out of room for the actual winch as you have used a vital few mm that you needed. I got it all in there, but wasn't the easiest of installations.
