I've had my eye on those, I wish I had the cash. I was quoted 360 per tyre in fnq. I basically told him where he could put that number. Pretty sure in the capital cities you can get them for 250-300 each.

Bought some General Grabber AT2 today. 225/75/16 fitted and balance and wheel alignment for $240 each. Pretty happy. They look like a really good compromise of off road and on road.

Looking for a tyre recommendation for my 97 SWB vit,
Currently running 215/75/r15's
Looking for a budget tyre to replace a couple of the bald ones on the rear, would prefer something in an All terrain,
Any recommendations and where to get them in Perth?
Cheers

You'll want around -12 rims and a hammer. Steering stops will need to be wound out, and you may need to look at extending bumpstops (although I've been getting away without doing this for a couple of years.)

OK, next question...

34/10.5/16 tsl super swampers - hearing good things, but concerned about the load rating (3200lbs!) With 4 ply sidewalls are they going to be too stiff to work on a Vit?

How awful are they on road? Can't find a speed rating anywhere, so that makes them not road legal, yeah?

Maybe. Still not sure I can manage 2 sets of tyres, so might just end up with some 265/75 KM2s.

If I do go swampers I've got to find rims, preferably beadlocks... had a look under it today and there's more room than I thought with the 253/85s, so an extra 2.5-3" doesn't scare me as much as it did. Body lift helps a lot!

Two of my mates run the 33x10.5 km2 but both have 3in body lift
I clear 31 with now body lift so u should clear the top easy just the front and back thats going to be the problem
Might need to push ur diff back abit
U should have roon in front now
Dont go to much off set and u should be right
Just go the km2 with internal beedlocks and run like 5psi off road
My mates dd on theirs and love them on and off road

I just bought maxxis bighorn m/t 764 31"x10.5x15 with gecko black -13 offset rims for my Jimny, have sat them on sons vitara and they look great, a little trimming and I think that offset would be good for the vitara to? Can't chuck them on the Jimny yet as its still in auto sparkles after major electrics fail which sux. The brand wheel I used (gecko) only listed 2 different offsets for zooks, 10p and 13n and that's to fit Sierra, vitara and jimny. Am I right in thinking the negative offset will push wheel track out further and positive will narrow it up?

Think I'd need longer rear arms to fit 33's on me LWB Vit.
The rear door is very close to the tyre, so cutting would be difficult.

But I still lust after them :)

Both must be auto's and run mega coolers. I couldn't run anything bigger than 31 as a daily in my manual. Would chew clutches like it does oil filters ahah.

So i went into bob janes to get a tyre fixed this morning

He also gave me the price for 31" bighorns $255each.
He advised me that there is also the kl71 muddies. He said he has heard good things from these and that they are actually quieter then the Bighorns, PLUS they are directional muddies and only $230 a tyre.

So the questions are:
Has anyone tried the KL71's???
Which one would you recomend (Note: Both 31" and wont be useing them daily)

directional tyres are all well and good when going forwards in sloppy conditions... they'll tend to fill up easier in reverse.

personally i think the KL-71's bring all the boys to the yard with their large tread blocks & smaller voids. pompoms

if they're not daily tyres, i'd be going for an extreme mud tyre like the simex or silverstones.

At the moment i only have Maxxis AT 771's on..

I dont need fullon MT tyres. I want to be able to travel on them on highway and not be to bad, So it will be out of those 2 tyres

Alien on here runs them for a summer tire and km2 for winter, he recons the kl71 are good value for money just not as good in the mud/wet rock stuff. if you PM him he will tell you more.

i run the bighorns, just get them!
