Cool.

Can you measure the thickness of the new rotor, and the hight of the rotor hat from the back of the rotor to the wheel mounting surface.

Cheers 8)

Hey mate, I've got the photos and measurements but I can't get them to upload in here from my phone... Can you give me your email addy and I'll send them to you :)

Without hijacking this thread too much, I'd there a trick to getting new rotors in? Mine don't seem to want to go all the way back and the brake pads are stopping the wheel from completely turning around?

How different do you know? Just the centre hole? Everything else looked the same... I'll be checking the measurements on the centre tomorrow, but I've 95% got it on so I was thinking I was doing something wrong...

Yep, LWB Vit rotors and calipers fit. Not a massive difference in performance, but I also had brand new pads in my jim, and the pads and rotors I'm using now are second hand, so maybe a bigger difference once I buy new pads and rotors. Also I didn't need to trim the backing plate at all which means there less work then fitting to a sierra.

In my opinion, unless new pads and rotors make a massive difference, this isn't a worth it mod as bleeding the brakes now becomes a big job. The current difference, is instead if having your foot pressed against the pedal to bring it to a stop, you just rest your foot and it pulls up itself. So it works better but the bleeding trade off doesn't make it worth it for me.

F!@k YEAH!!!, I recon with a decent pair of pads and slotted rotors she will pull up well, and maybe less warping with the ventilation XD
Thank you so much 31zook for doing that for us :)
What Vitara exactly did those calipers come off?

Slotted rotors don't increase braking performance. They reduce fade. And to be honest, with the type of money people spend on their slotted rotors ( RDA, DBA etc) all you are buying is a gymick. You need to spend a fair bit more than $200 per rotor to get a performance gain.

Just having the vented rotors and larger caliper ( piston) and maybe a slightly larger contact area will make a difference.

31zook, I'd say yours need a machine and new pads.

Yeah, I only bolted em up today to see if they fitted then when they did I figured I may as well see if they feel any better...

They have a sight wobble in them so I'll just get new disks.

Hi Zook
Is yours a VVT Jimny?

I have been trying to find an upgrade for my '09 and this might just tick the box.

I bent my brake pedal earlier this year finding the limits of the front brakes, couldn't get the abs to kick in above 100!

What's changed 31zook to make it a difficult? I can't tell from the picture, not very familiar with my Jimny Callipers really.

Mate I'm pretty sure this mod is only for non vvt models as vvt's have a bigger hole in the roater over the locking hubs.
Don't quote me on this I just saw it on another post from another member

The nipples don't line up now, so to bleed, I need to take off the caliper and disk, and hold in the correct spot to bleed... Not like stock where the car can stay assembled and just crack a nut.
