please dont tell me to search cos i have plenty of times today, but yeah I have my vitara swb with that when i bought it had coil spacers fitted in the front (30mm) and I've generally been of the opinion that the proper way is to do it with raised coils,
and when i went to do my control arm bushes this is what i found, is this often how coil spacers end up or were these just crappy ones? what options for 40-50mm lift in the way of springs as a cheap option (will do the fronts first) or just stick with spacers?

cheap way in coils is kings some people like them some people hate them. i found them to alright. normally about $150 a pair from super cheap mine gave me 40mm lift. lots of people rate the ome lift as good cause you can choose your different coil rates. and i think it is dank on here that does the dobinson stuff. i ran spacers all around in mine no issues.

Spacers shouldn't do that... especially one and the other still in such good nick. Something else might be out of whack to cause such imbalanced wear?

I share the opinion that longer springs are better than spacers, because spacers give you lift but no additional travel. As far as my exeprience goes it's only a theory, I haven't done enough direct back-to-back comparison to know any practical difference. I ran spacers in my front coils for a while to even up the ride height, and didn't have any problems.

What struts/shocks you running?

180SX springs are apparently good in the back of a shorty, but might be more lift than you're after. Otherwise for cheap hit eBay for kings or Ironman. For really cheap PM Bruce for some replacement spacers.

Its looked after fairly well by me, though other work that can wait tends to get left as im a mechanic (well 4th year apprentice) and it tends to get a pretty soft life, that is the side that had the control arm bushes worn worse, whether that may have made things worse, but like i said i have no idea on the quality of spacers used, ive got a few different options on springs and struts (struts getting pretty tired too) but they have a strut top flip done so that allows for the extra travel, never had CV issues at any point. But im happy with the amount of lift I had from those spacers, plus i only have an inch of clearance getting into the carport, but ill pm bruce and see what i can do, cos im not really worried about loosing the up travel, cos with the 30s i have less clearance

U could try some 2l lwb vit coils
V6gv coils give like 3" lift in a lwb
So stock lwb v6 vits should give a bit less
Some one on here is bound to have some lieing around u could try

did a good job of the spacer haha, try tough dog they give 30mm lift

Yep Bruce's are the go.
Maybe the spacer that perished had something spill on it? The other one is out of shape a little.
