Does anyone know if a plastic 1L dash (with the 'oh shit' handle on passenger side) would bolt directly into a 1L body that came with a metal dash without the 'oh shit' handle?

At the moment I have a '84 SJ40 (1L) with a metal dash and pretty much every single one of the heater box and air sliders etc behind the center console is broken. I was going to replace it all then though I might as well upgrade to the nicer plastic dash while i'm at it.

Thanks.

You have an oh shit handle, it's also commonly referred to as a steering wheel.

Don't worry about one for the passanger. They should be holding the camera.

Each to their own but I think the metal dashes are way better. They leave heaps more room in the cab. However if you do want to do it, it can be done but it's not a bolt in job.

And some may consider worth doing. There is a blue ute build up in the rigs section that showed a few pics of the swap. Think it was an 81 or 82 if that helps with searching.
