Does anyone know if the Aussie GV 2.5L V6 ECU is OBD2 compliant, and if it uses any of the following protocols:-
CANSF
CANSLF
CANSS
CANLS
ISO
KWPS
KWPF

Reason is I want to use a Scangauge, but they don't have a listing for this vehicle.

The Scanguage is GREAT. I have one in our Rodeo (2004 V6) and works a treat.

Surey Suzuki could tell you? I rather sure from memory they are OBD2 compliant. I think most are from late 90's on all cars.

It's a shame we don't live close or you could loan mine to see if it works.

Bruce, I contacted Suzuki & they are going to get back to me. When that will happen is anybody's guess. In the mean time I was hoping to get a result from here.
I did some googling but mostly results relate to overseas Zooks, so not necessarily the same, but probably the same. Has it given you any surprise results?

They would be at least OBD if not OBD2. Can't say for sure as I've never stuck my head in one

Any further answers from anyone?

I've got an intermittent check engine light and the local shop don't have an OBD reader.

Was go`n through my workshop man & it said nothing about OBD2,

so I rang my rep. YES . OBD2 compliant , had a feeling thay were as thay run an OBD2 plug under the dash.

As for what will talk to it, any Obd2 scan tool, as long as you have the correct softwere.

Scangauge 2 will not work with the GV. I was about to buy one but a dude from the Suzi club contacted the seller and found out it doesn't work.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/USB-OBD-2-VGA-CO ... 9896wt_925

can anyone tell me if this will work? i have check engine light and just wanna find what the code is so i dont have to diagnose myself, im thinking its my idle motor or O2 sensors, it stalls often when clutching.
also where is the OBD cable under the drivers or passenger side?
all the info i have found is from USA GV and they are under the drivers side, so i assume ours is under the passenger side where the ecu is? but i cant find the plug.
Thanks Ryan

That will plug into the OBD2, but you will need a lap top with appropriate software to read the code's.
OBD2 connector is under the driver's side on the tunnel side of the steering.

you can bridge the diag connector, but I've lost the pdf file i used to have on the Gv's

Stick your head under the driver's side dash and find the diagnostic connector and make a note of which positions are wired - chances are it'll be 4, 5, 9 & 16 - which would indicate the Suzuki proprietary SDL protocol.

4 & 5 are ground, 9 is the data link and 16 is +12V

Take a look here for more details.

If there are other positions wired, it may be OBD-II

I want one of these... but again I'm unsure if my SV420 is actually OBD-II
