Trip Facts The tracks are open again after seasonal closures, so dust off your junk, send your better half to the races and get ready for the best one day trip of the year!
The Zook Club Cup has run (almost) annually since 2004 on Melbourne Cup Day (first Tuesday in November). This makes puts the trip just two days after the seasonal closures are officially over for the year.
We basically refer to this trip as Adventure Tour for one day. It’s a hard trip, but your junk only has to run for a single day, and this makes for plenty of hard driving, hard lines and great action.
Trip Location and Accommodation Originally The Zook Club Cup was run in the Mt Disappointment State Forest, but this area has since been shut down due to fire damage and track closures, so now we decide during the week before where the hard stuff is going to be and head in that direction.
There is no accommodation organised for this trip – we expect everyone to get themselves home - even if this means calling a tow truck.
Trip Standards The standard for this trip is more about the driver than the vehicle.
Drivers have to enjoy driving the hard terrain, and to be prepared to laugh off a bit of rock rash.
Suggested vehicle standards would be 31s and a locker for a Sierra and 31s and twin lockers for a vitara.
Past Trip Coverage Here are some vintage photos from the club archives including one showing Big Steve winning the cup for the best roll-over of the day.
