I have spoken to Wilkinsons Suspensions about 3 months ago and just recently in regards to a lift kit for my Grand Vitara and got mixed messages.

The first time I rang, the guy told me I could get a 40mm lift with a set of longer springs. I asked him if I would need new shocks as well and he said no, the existing shocks will have enough travel.

I then rang more recently to confirm this and the guy said that I would need springs and shocks (and something else I can't remember) and it would cost $1500.

I inquired to him that someone else from there said I didn't need shocks and just springs and he told me no one from there would say that.

Does anyone know if I can get away with just a higher set of springs or do i need to go the whole hog?

Lifted springs and standard shocks is a retarded idea IMO. Whatever the car, you'll need longer shocks...

I have the ironman 40mm lift in our 2008 GV and its awsome. Originally they had problems with noisy front struts but have since fixed that problem. its a complete kit with coils and struts/shocks. Once fitted you will have to get some camber bolts fitted to correct the alignment. Ride is a bit frimer but it sits nicely and drives like factory.

Ironman kit cost $880
alignment with bolts cost me $300.

It raised the GV by about 45mm

I have heard pretty average things about the Ironmans.

Are you happy with them?
