Ok so i just spoke to some one who knows more than me about this stuff...
the vit cas is a 8 pin pick up and the gti is only a 4 as it is used more as a engine speed censer than a cas,
the vit dizzy is also 5 pin plug and gti is 3.
so it will take a whole lot of work. but i will still look in2 this...

Hold your horses
Ok this is a MK2/Mk3 (I think) dizzy pickup:
The trigger angles are pretty weird to say the least! Now the only way a vit dizzy will work with teh MK2/3 ECU is it the trigger angles are the same ie 91,61,6*BTDC.
All the earlier MPFI vitaras I know of have a dizzy with 4 evenly spaced triggers (90* each).
The vitara dizzy will only work if:
The GTI ECU controls the ignition timing and the GTI original pickup has 4 evenly spaced triggers.

ok I had my wires crossed. would the triggers/pickups be interchangeable? from memory the gti dizzy is much fatter than vit, so doubt that.

I will let you answer that one all on your own.......
Your GTI has 4, just like an early vitara but like I said the MK1 GTI uses mechanical means of controlling the ignition timing.
So in a MK1 you can use, sierra and vit CARB dizzys. Later GTI's have 12 triggers at weird angles as above and fixed mechanical timing hence EFI vitara dizzy's will not work as their triggers are not at the same angles and the 4 trigger EFI vit dizzy will not work on the MK1 as it has fixed mechanical ignition timing.
Obviously if you just wanted to run fixed timing on your MK1 the EFI 4 trigger dizzy will work but that will make a very poor setup.....

Sorry guys....i forgot to mention that on some dizzy's (according to Derick) you wil need to find a auto sparky to 'adjust' the magnets which will cost around $60.

Assuming you can adapt a Vit dizzy housing to the GTi block I think your best bet is to try to fit the guts of the GTi dizzy into the Vit housing.

That's what essentially happens when you modify the magnets
You will still need the right angle drive adapter kit to fit the dizzy

What does the kit contain?
Is it the angle drive kit like SuziSport sell modified with Sierra housing and sierra dizzy?
Im assuming this is only for the MK1 engines since you're using the sierra dizzy?
Do you have kits for MK2/3 engines?
Bit more info would be helpful and your price especially if anyone else out there is looking to do this conversion
