Thats tragic! :(

But I'll go out on a limb here and suggest that you fit a beefier drawbar. Ive rerpaired a few trailers tha were rear ended like that and never seen a drawbar fold up like that before.

And we need pics from the rest of the trip.

I would rather have the drawbar fold than the towbar being driven further into the back of the zuke. It is only a 400kg trailer so 50X50 4mm SHS is plenty strong enough.
If it wasn't a full chasis drawbar it would have snapped for sure.

We were travelling west along Battle Camp Rd to Laura.
The road dirt road was is very good condition we came into a corner and hit a slippery spot. A little inexperience played out as LTM21 is only 3 months into his Ps and we slid off the road. No damage done. My mate hit the same patch in his Patrol and tried to occupy the same spot as us.

This corner came over a crest after a long stretch of staight road no warning signs. I didn't consider we were going to fast as I didn't have to say "Ease up Turbo" as I usually do. :)

Pics of repairs.

Just needs a lick of paint and it will be as good as new. :P Only changes maybe add extended shackles, raise and extend mudguard, and install bumpstops.

I used rear sierra shocks and front springs.
If I were to do it again I would go 2" lifted rear sierra springs with extended shackles.

I went with front springs added another leaf and got them reset as much as I could. These I would say they just coped with the trailer loaded up.

I estimated it was loaded at about 200 - 250kgs. Towed really well across all types of terain. Nice and soft.

With a bit more time I would add bumpstops and raise the mudguards.
