why not? does it move in the bushes that are on the chassis bit. i had to give it a good pull and push to free these up then it bolted up.
how have you set up the springs? what have you drilled, shackel size?

60 is what i was expecting. didn't tell me a price till he had done them. if he had i would of went up the road and got some braided steel ones made up for $100.

thats what you pay around here for the braided stuff.
i think $100 is cheap to know your car will stop when you want it to.

i just worked out why the sway bars wouldn't work
i haven't made the shackles yet but they are gonna be around 2 to 3 inches longer than the standard ones so it should sit level
i haven't had to redrill anything it all seems to work

your streeing arm will hit on your steering link when the wheels are point strate and hit a bump, that is the only reason i redrilled the pads.

if it can hit it can be a problem
better to make it so its not possible with stupid bumpstop spacers or moving the box or something

i think my best bet would be to put it all together then test to see where and if it hits because i can't really flex it in the garage

yep it will hit. just get under the car and have a look, you can see where it will hit with out flexing it up.

Did a mini RUF during the week using suzuki carry rear springs. They are approx 50mm longer than 2" lifted sierra front springs, and the centre-pin is approx 45mm forward of stock.
I used main carry leaf, 3rd and 4th leaves out of my 2" lifted pack and the 3rd carry leaf. No load leaves. I might add an extra leaf on the drivers side to try to counter the sierra lean
To fit them I redrilled the rear spring mount 20mm back and 6mm up. This puts the axle approx 25mm forward. The steering arms clear by 5-10mm so no trouble there.
I used 40mm extended shackles. This gives a nice shackle angle.
It probably gave 1-1.5" of lift (so dropped a little from the previous 2" springs).
Flex is awesome to say the least. Quite a big improvement from before. I have 1" bumpstop spacers to help fit the longer shocks and stop the tyres rubbing on the guards (which still needed a fair bit of massaging with a hammer)
Shocks aren't fitted in this pic as I was measuring to make sure they were still long enough, which they were
2" extended brake-lines are plenty long enough
So overall Im very happy with my $30 carry springs. The ride is softer than before, quite comfy, flex is better. Cant go wrong

They were cheap, $15 each. Carry springs put the axle in a good position (1" forward of stock) without having to re-drill the spring perches.
Also sierra rears are another 2" longer (4" longer than fronts) so I would have to either redrill rear mount further backward (dont really want to as theres not alot of metal there) use longer shackles (again dont really want to) or do a chassis extension (too much fabrication for me).
Sure sierra rears may give a little bit more flex, but im not sure it'd be worth the extra hassle when the carry springs give some decent flex and are so simple and cheap to install.

The shackle angle is not the best mate. It should be a little closer to verticle. About 35-40 deg from verticle is ideal. Yours is more like 60 deg from vert. You run the risk of inverting the shackles on compression.
If you can move the front hanger forward it will give you a little more lift aswell as correct your shackle angle. 40-50mm should do it.
Otherwise, nice job You can't knock $15!!!
