I used a small piece of clear contact, lasted 18 months or so before it deteriorated.

I've thought about using gaffer tape but the thought of removing the sticky residue put me off.

why is it leaking though??? mine only ever leaked because the 2 drain pipes that come out the firewall were clogged with leaves and sand/mud... i used a butterknife jammed in there with the hose set to the "jet" setting and chiseled it all out - this was around 7 years ago and its not leaked through the vents since =)
i does still however leak through the windscreen frame, rear window zipper, and the front door seal - but then thats why we have removable floor plugs! haha

if you take the garden hose and shoot water into the vent does it come out the firewall??? there might not be leaves visible at the top but a blockage further down the drains thats making it leak inside the car.

ohhhhh i seeeee.. its weid cos mine doesnt do it... must be lucky.
i do get a small leak from the door seal onto the drivers footwell though. The seal doesnt get along with the fabric from the soft top so it weeps in heavy rain.
taking the floor plugs out fixed that though =P

I drove the zook to drop the grommets off to school. Forgot all about the fridge magnets. Luckily for me they're still there!

Its a pretty high pressure are there (hence why the fresh air vents work) so I wouldnt worry about em blowing off

You need a auszookers magnet just a little larger than the vent , so buy some white mgnetic base and slap a sticker on there , Cheers Paul.
