My side panels were in a pretty sad state with damage from rocks and stuff so i made some body armour. 3mm plate.
I made a template first with paper, then traced the line on to the plate and Craigo used his plasma cutter to cut the shapes. I then sikaflexed them on, clamped them in place and Craig ran a few welds around. (he's better and doing nice welds.)
Nice and solid now

Looks like it will work for you. Now tell the truth, it's just welding the light stuff sucks and the thicker the easier

The body panels were dented already so this fixed two things at once, now the panels look straight and provides protection. Also am not sure were to put any bar work around that area.
