Customer - "How do you make a profit selling them cheaper than it costs to make them"

Salesman - "Oh, we make it up on the volume we sell"

What a load of old crock - BTW "Would you like a nice opera-house with that?"

Retail Price is made by what the seller thinks/hopes/knows the market will bare.

I was really surprised when I signed up to AZ, how many of you guys had ARB lockers. I was thinking (sheesh these guys must have alot of money).

Mate I earn $160 a week; thats it (and unlike allot of wankers who cry poor all the time, I don't waste money on uselss shit like drugs and alcohol). I have 2 bloody ARB's, and it took me a very long time to save for them (first one I made the mistake of buying locally, the other one I bought from lowrange which was about $250 cheaper, and took less time to get here  ). My absolute hate of driving locked is why I bought them, as I only use them when I really really have to. The stupid thing is, they are in the car I very rarely ever take 4wding (my Sierra).

Now my next issue is I want selectable lockers for an LJ diff. First company to make something I can use will get my business (if I don't do an alternate solution beforehand). I don't care if its ARB, Chinawoops, Boris-corp or wackydoodledodgeycompany. But at this rate custom made or lowering myself to lockwrongs (and hence keeping another car purely to drive unlocked) is looking more and more likely....

I tend to agree with tony above, I think its got more to do with what the market will pay.
If I'm quiet and need work I will lower my rate, if busy and swamped I'll up it.
If arb are happily selling lockers here they would be stupid not to test the thresehold where the market will stop buying them .

buy the way most lockers dont go to tight arse suzi owners, take a look at howmany $ of crap is hanging of some cruisers and pootrolls $12-1300 is nothing for them to spend copared tp some of the shit hanging off their cars

Yeah that's true.
An ARB locker would be the dearest thing you could buy for a zook.

I wouldnt think so, sorry my point was that $1300 for an air locker is probably cheap if you need to repace a factory unit

I think the Mrshitbus 10 year warranty is only valid if nothing breaks. A mate bought a new Triton last year and took it to Fraser at Easter this year. The front CV boots were worn out from highway driving and he didn't check them before the trip (new car I suppose) and they filled up with sand and were totally flogged out before he got far. When he took it to Mrshitbus they said it was his fault and charged him over 2 grand. He had a Defender for years before that and never got stuck, he reckons the Triton never DIDN'T get stuck.

Our Kalgoorlie branch manager has ordered a Challenger, the same base as the triton. The challengers come with diff locks standard. They should do the same with the tritons IMO.

a new challenger is also on the cards for us especially since Mitsubishi
announced that they are making a mine spec challenger and i was unable to brake the last one i owned. just a shame it hasn't got the 3.2 as it is a great motor.

4wd utes are the biggest ripoff IMO in terms of what you get for your $

The 2.5 is okay, but yeah the 3.2 would be better.

yep. 60k for a ute that doesn't even have aircon is a bit of a worry.

Before you guys get too carried away........you should see how badly factory lockers are made. Even Toyota ones are awefull in the way the engage and construction.

No need to pay for over engineering if what you have will do the job. Pretty sure the factory locker will suffice as the paj isn't much of a comp truck.

sorry joe but Mitsubishi's 10 year drive line warranty negates any benefit
of fitting arb lockers. plus they are a $900 option so are shitloads cheaper.
