I measured it on my 1.6 block, the difference is 15mm. Looks a bit different on yours? Or it could just be the pic maybe?

I stacked 3 pieces of 5mm and it works perfect.
My welding was expectedly shithouse though, mind you, I was running a 15A welder off a 25 meter 10A extension lead and I haven't welded for 12 months so I guess that doesn't really make things any easier

Quick change of subject (in a way) but is a engine mount (std) the same on both sides. I should carry some for Casper for the comps.

the rubbers/bolts are the same, but the brackets that bolt to the engine are different each side.
yeah bruce, take a spare, and also metal glue, to repair the radiator when the fan hits it.

chuck some big zipties around the stock mounts too, helps to stop em overstretching and breaking when upside down

This one replaces the transmission mount. You can see how it drops it down a fair bit, about 45mm all up. I'll be making some engine mounts like Steve has done that will drop the engine by the same amount. Actually, the bits are made and I have the engine on a chain, just need to drop it into the engine bay and tack them up.
One thing to note, there wasn't enough room on the chassis side bracket to use the bolt holes in the chassis like on the stock bracket, so I had to weld studs into the plate.

steve wrote: i put my hand of the mount, the engine doesn't move much, so there's not a lot of movement really, it's just the slight vibration through the whole car.
It probably doesn't help having a broken fan blade either.
It'll just work in with the rest of the vibs that go through the Sierra, gnarled and bent shafts, out of balance wheels and tyres.

Hi everyone, I am new to the site, I made these mount a while back to replace our standard 1300 Sierra mounts (we were breaking them during races). It is exactly the same size as an original mount and bolts to the original block bracket and original chassis mounting position. The mount takes Landcruiser shackle bushes. The driver and passenger side are identical, a standard mount will bolt straight back in if required. They do increase engine vibration to some degree but they have completed two rounds of the Landcruiser Mountain Park Coopers Series unscathed.
