Hi guys, I'm looking for some bits for my LJ81 and the LJ50 engine.

LJ50:

Alternator bracket.
Good clutch assembly.
Gearbox.
Oil bottle thingy.

LJ81:

Bonnet hold down clamp thing, passengers side is missing/broken, not sure if they're any different between each side.
Usable F8A engine.
A half decent tray, mine is the "k" style, factory tray with the taillights built in. Mine is bent in every way possible.
Stockman shape plastic grill, anything that's in one piece would be good.
Some legal bar treads would be nice.
Wouldn't say no to a cheap 1 litre Sierra engine

I'm sure I'l find a lot more to add to this list as I go.

I'm in Northcliffe, Western Australia, 4 hours south of Perth. I'm happy to organize couriering and so on if you're further away.

Thanks

Hayden

Add to those....

LJ81:

Bonnet
Front gaurds
Front panel
Tuning knob for the stereo

All mostly undented and relatively rust free please, mine are bent in ways I'm not really sure how they managed it, also resemble swiss cheese. I know it's a long shot but hey, if you don't ask....

Thanks

I have no experience with these guys at all:
http://www.citroa.com/suzuki/lj-80-series/

But they do list reproduction stockman panels in steel. Might be worth a shot if you can't get what your after 2nd hand...

They are the same both sides. Between the 4 LJ's I have bought, only 1 had one good one of these :( (and by good I mean it has rust holes through it :( ). I made a new top piece of one for my tintop 80 using some flat steel and a bench grinder.

I might have an alternator bracket and an oil tank for the 50. I will have to do some digging on the weekend.

Do the bonnet tie downs mount with 2 screws on the bonnet and 2 screws on the guard or is there a bracket welded to the bonnet and the guard. The early ones were steel and the later ones plastic.

Those ebay bar treads are the only brand that I have been able to locate. I have old bridgestone, Olympic, Firestone and Kumhos none of which are still available or the tyre shops could not be bothered to do any research.

The bartreads that came with my stockman are brand new so you can definately still buy them, just went to the shed and they have the brand MRF on the sidewall and are a nylon 6ply tyre

This place in Melbourne sell the MRF range http://www.tyretraders.com.au/light_tru ... as_ply.php

BTW the Deestone importers are Tubes and Tyres in Sydney although they won't sell to the public. Last tyre on page 2 http://tyreandtubeaust.com.au/pdfs/02%2 ... 202011.pdf

Reproduction panels would be awesome, I don't have that kind of money though, I'm planning to get this on the road for less than $1000. I'm just looking for something more usable than mine, the bonnet has flown up at some time and the corners have rusted away, the fenders are impressively bent considering the bar work that covers then ect.

Mine are the plastic type like Fity mentions, seems like these aren't going to be any easier to come across though!

Thanks, a bit expensive for me though.

That LJ50 stuff would be awesome if you have it! And yeah, my bonnets tie downs are the screwed on plastic ones.

3 of my LJs tyres are Cheng Shin brand and look fairly new, apparently Cheng Shin is basically Maxxis so perhaps we could get a Maxxis dealer too see if they can bring them in? Might be cheaper than the others.

I'm more looking for a second hand set, I just need 2 (one with rim) to be able to get through rego, even if I could just borrow the ones I need when I take it over the pits that'd be great, she'l end up with 15" rims and some mudders later on.

They have (near as makes no difference) 36" bar treads! 8O I want.

I have a few running F8's.

How much are you prepared to spend to buy one off me and have it shipped over to you? You can PM me if you prefer.

Bumpity bump.

Chasing a restorable bonnet and a half decent factory tray, need these soon.

Also need an indicator lens, the one on the front passengers side is missing.

Thanks

Negative. Different bell housings.
The LJ80 gearbox that belongs to the F8a is very similar to the LJ50 gearbox, just with a different bellhousing.

So do you have a box and motor and if so - what price?

I wish they did!

I'm really considering making an adapter plate so I can put the LJ50 engine into my LJ81, seeing as it seems I'm never going to find a gearbox, or a whole LJ50 for that matter.

If you already have an engine it can't be worse than this one  I found it in a pump shed on a mates farm, it'd been sitting upright on its clutch in this flooded shed for a few decades by the look of it. You can snap bits of the clutch off! 8O It had no spark plugs in it so the cylinders are rusty (not much, thank god) and wasps decided to make their nests in the cylinders and just about every other part of the engine possible. Still want it?

I'm slowly rebuilding it. It'l run again one day.

2mm over size Victa pistons fit!

Ummmm! My only problem is I can't find anyone who can press my crankshaft apart and back together to replace the big end bearings and pins.

A motorbike or outboard rebuild place would be able to do it surely! I guess it's just a matter of finding someone with a jig for a 3 cylinder?

Someone on here would know where you could get it done for sure!

Thanks mate but it's not what I'm looking for sorry. I'm after a clutch for an LJ50 which I'm sure is different to that.

Thanks
