Maybe, I'd say its more for protection under the car and the fact you cant use the sticky back to stick to a chassis
If you buy the waterproof stuff you can use it elsewhere and just stick it without putting it in tube.

The bong tubing is for an extra layer of protection from mud, rocks & crap not to waterproof the LED's... plus now I'll never have to cut down my garden hose again.
I bought the smaller LED's by mistake, I just saw the 120 per meter & went buy now. The larger ones would have been better & mega bright, the small ones would make awesome interior lights, camper lights, lights in rear storage units.
Cost = ummm about $80-90 depends on how well stocked the workshop is, LED's were $60, $8 for the tubing, $4 for the condute saddles... the other stuff I had already, wire, solder, tape, silicone, cable ties etc.
I've got a few little left overs, I'll wire them up & try to get some photo's.

love the idea of putting them in a tube, i didn't think of that when i did mine
doing them off the door is pretty easy going, i put those ones you have on the roll bar of my suzi and wired them plus another strip attached to door itself for door to come on when the door does.
under mine i used hard plastic 3 colour strip leds of 30cm long, glued to a plastic u channel,
they also turn white but i havn't got a pic of them white atm
this one you can kinda see the leds on the roll bar
how long have you been running your in that tube, cause mine heat up alot and i was wondering how your coped inside that sealed tube??
