sea freight like that its one bill of lading for each order, one port fee for each, one clearance fee etc
I have a dude 2m from me can tell me what something costs to freight from anywhere to aus in a million different methods, because DHL et all run stuff in differently to normal seafreight its cheaper to airfreight it
10 tonnes worth different story

yes, shipping, as in non airline, but by a ship, cheapest option by a mile.
Surely individual labels are not hard, I used to export live stuff to the States, quite often 6 different buyers, normally 4, piece of cake to label boxes individually, on same export permit, CITIES number etc.

yeah the freight rate per tonne is heaps lower, but there is a fuck load of fixed per bill of lading (one per receiver) charges that add up to more than what DHL charge
unless you find a shipping mob that mix load a container, consign it to themselves in Australia as one bill of lading, declare it al, deal with the clearance headaches then send it to all the different people

I'm going to make some calls tomorrow provided I get time and find out an approx on import duties etc
It may be worth it as the quote I got for air freight off them for one was 205 dollars

I'm thinking about ordering one and getting new spider gears through work and just interchanging the spider gears with original ARB gears. Might work out REALLY cheap

So you use stock side gears? DMAC do the spider gears look machined or cast? In that ARB vs China locker it is the side gear that looks to do all the damage to the spider gears anyway, with a stock side gear that is unlikely anyway.

Then who is going to distribute them from Brisbane port to all around Australia for the group buy? How much do they weigh so we can get interstate quotes?

youve got a min of $300 in fixed port charges on top of that as well
6 weeks sea freight from USA currently, if its an lcl and possibly trans shipped (chinese seller always goes the cheap option) make it 12
plus GST, plus duty
you need to engage a freight forwarder before you bother going any further, sea freight is not for this type of thing.

I'm just going to make the prediction now that this doesn't get off the ground. It is not going to be worth the trouble. $160 is a large chunk of money but remember, someone is picking up your CHEAP lockers from the seller, loading it on a plane in China then dropping it off at your house. Sounds pretty bloody good to me.
You only get cheap shipping if you are importing LARGE quantities. Most freight forwarders get a similar price per container as you or I would. To put it simply, 1 container is nothing to the shipping company and that's over 30 cubic meters, so why would you expect to have huge savings by ordering 20 little boxes?
Trust me, I know what I'm talking about, I worked for a large freight forwarder, 2 large shipping companies (including P&O) and was self employed as an importer for a few years. It just isn't worth the bother.

Can you take some high res photo's of the gears so we can tell if they are machined or cast?
