I've got a long range tank lined up to buy for my SWB sierra, but i was just wondering if i will need to chop out the rear crossmember (near the rear bumper) to fit the long range tank in?

Someone please enlighten me...

They should be a direct fit!

Is it suited for a 2" bodylift? Do you have one? That is the only drama i can think of. Your spoa so ground clearence won't be a problem.

I don't know the specifics of a leafy LR tank, but the Long Ranger tank to suit the Coily requires the original tank mounts to be chopped off the rear crossmember. The rear of the tank mounts via u-bolts to the crossmember tube and fits snugly in front and underneath it - i.e. it is like the tank is folded around it for extra capacity.

I'm not sure if it suits a body lift, the pics i have of the tank have it mounted in a chassis and i also have photos of it out of the car... I'm not sure of the brand either...

And yes i do have a 2 inch body lift which i hate

My long range tank is an LRA brand and you have to cut two original mounts off just under the backdoor and they supply ubolts to mount it with.

I couldn't imagine any company selling a long range tank that requires you to cut out the rear crossmember (certainly not a company that is reputable). Like the others have said of their tanks, mine uses u-bolts that secure the tank to the crossmember. Here's a couple of photo's of mine. It's fitted to a coily, but was told when I ordered it that it's the same as a leafy. My tank unfortunately is 2" higher to utilise the space available from a body lift.

76 series landcruiser wagons have to have some chopping done to geth the tank in and u bolts to the cross member

D40 navara you have to cut out a section to get the larger tank straps in

There are many tank figments that require something being cut out of the Way

This is the same for lra brand and long ranger

The front tags look to have a bolt through the rails.... Not the best idea considering you won't get a crush tube in there easily.

And the bottom is stoved in atleast 5L

Looks like an early 4WD Systems tank if so you will have to chop all but the RHR mounts off poss even that one, Leave the cross members in place and drill 3 or 4 new holes in your chassie when offering the tank into vehicle. The rear shocks will have to come off to do this. Have fun I hate these type tanks.
