So they are meant to be the ducks nuts, longer travel, nice ride, good stuff.

Ive had em in since the day I got my vit, replaced with a new set maybe 2 years ago cause the others went a bit shit and needed some movement to get the air out of the piston.

Today I went to do some stuff to teh front of the vit and checked the struts cause it felt a bit soft rolling out my driveway

Now my vit doesnt go offroad other than some beach when I get time, I have enough modded dont care if you beat it up a bit 4wd's at my disposal so it doenst need to, hell it only ever really runs up and down a highway every day

So why after 2 years and maybe 40000km ARE THESE FUCKING EXPENSIVE YOU BEAUT BEST YOU CAN GET STRUTS BOTH FUCKED!!!!!! I know these things dont last but thats just plain old shit, I believe they go on with some warranty bullshit but we all know ARB warranty is worth for shit so I guess I'm out a few dollars.

Funny that the 100000km old Rancho 9000's on the rear are still fine, wonder if they do a nice front strut

So, how do I get warranty, or do I weld them to the bollards out the front the local shop and spend em on something else?

Yes having helped Royce today play with his heap, they are rather fucked.
Get your receipt docket and put in a claim.
They would onlt be 2 years old at that Royce. Cause we fitted them when we put them great spacers in

That is pretty crap lifespan, the Calmini shocks in my Vit have done 100 000klm and they are surpose to be not that good quality.

My drivers side OME strut has failed now.

I did get them second hand but was told they did not spend long on the vehicle and once my car they would have been lucky to have done 5000km.

I am iffy about getting another set if they fail that early for the price they are.

I have been thinking about them and I reckon they must jsut leak the oil out so you get a pocket of air that needs to get pumped back to the top

I found some nice Koni coil overs the other day that are designed to have strut ears welded onto them so they could be made to fit, lots of adjustment and 10" travel too

The Koni's would be cool.

The rod has side movement in the strut body. I haven't noticed any oil leaking yet but I have noticed a a lack of rebound control.

They are a nice riding shock but once bitten.........

No troubles with my OME struts, very pleased,
original owner used it hard of road, so do I.

I think they are supposed to have little resistance to up travel,
then stop the recoil on the down stroke.

Hence nice soft ride.

I also think they are supposed to be "reactive" to speed, thus stiffen up at higher speeds.

But I could just be talkin out the wrong end?

The rebound in teh shock is what stops the bouncing, it arrests the built up energy in the spring from it compressing, otherwise the suspension would 'jack up'

Thought you meant it was working ok on rebound.
Not faulty on rebound.

Thats definately not a good thing.
