im trying to check the oil in the transfer case on a recently bought 1990 seirra, both the fill and drain plugs are the square alan key type, the fill plug is already a bit striped. i grinded down a high tensile bolt to fit in the hole ( i didnt have any of those square headed tools) and made a nice tight one however both plugs are really really tight, the filler plugs thats already stiped is just getting striped worse and im woried that ill strip the drain aswell?
has anyone got any ideas what to do? is there a special type of impact driver or something?
thanks in advance...

Try using a ratchet or breaker bar straight in the hole

Stick the bolt you have ground square into the hole and then lay a bead of weld to join them.
Leave a while to cool and undo. Replace plugs.
