Has anyone done this the 'cheat ' way,, without removing the head ???
Can it be done ??
Cold start up lets a cloud of blue(oil) smoke from the exhaust so I suspect the stem seals... unless there is another possible cause ??
I am using about 1l oil in 7000k ...........

One of them, air hold's the valve shut while you compress the spring &so on..

Not a cheat tho..

i've just come from the same problem - is it only on startup and nothing else? if so then yeah, stem seals... mine also smoked under load, it was assumed to be rings but was infact steam seals and undersized valve guides on the intake side (all 4).
