Hey Joe will gv hubs fit on this and can u make it as wide as a gv diff to go in 1.6vit

why are you after a diff that is gv width?

projects are comming along. just sorting out the 'larger' cv's and axles. kenny was up to see progress and left with a smile on his face.

hoping to have the whole cv and axle system at around the 400 buck mark........NO MATTER WHAT TYPE OF ZOOK YOU HAVE. 8)

there will be the option of running standard zook stuff, plus i will be making custom axles with a larger 'off the shelf' cv with which i can make all sorts of custom widths. as progress continues i will post pics of this cv set up.

i'm also looking at making a knuckle felt eliminator kit.

I know you would already have thought of this, but just in case.
Will the panhard rod clash witht the left control arm mount or diff pumpkin on full compression.

I'm not as familiar with the landscape under the front of these, but it just doesn't seem to have enough clearance as most Panhards are mounted so that they are basically horizontal at standard ride height.

I'm probably wrong.

don't know if you have answered this and i missed it but how many mm will you get when flexed up with those arms from chassis to diff housing? what will the ride height be sitting at as well?

the panhard will work out. it will be the last thing to go in.

central bumpstops will be re-worked to suit. the ride height will be as it was with the a-frame.

now that would be silly if i didn't check eh?.......

some more trickery will be added to the front to compensate for the trickery i'm doing to the rear.......will keep pics comming. (will apply to vits also)

the only thing left untouched so far are those silly small king pin bearings......i'm sure i'll figure something out..... :?

Then I will assume that you have allowed for the 'expansion' of the cv joint when at full lock? Even though its not much, it doesn't look like you have much room to play with there :D

Not sure if you are still looking for orders, but if you are I'll put my name down for one to suit a SV Vit. :)

Possibly a dumb question, but with the new CVs/axles you are talking about would we retain the standard vitara diff carrier/gears (ie. would I still be able to use my 5.12s and lockright locker). Sorry if its already been listed, had a flick through the thread but couldnt see it.

yes, still looking for orders. these axles will be made to suit 26 spline fronts so no dramas there. the first trial axles will be made this week. these cv's will come with a 10mm machined spacer for each side of the vehicle (between knuckle and spindle). it will give me clearance for steering arms as well as giving some more clearance for those larger tyres on a leafy sierra  without having to use wheel spacers.

and don't stress vit owners.......the first vit diff is oh so close.(i need one for mine too). plus.....no sooner do i clear some cars......more turn up.

kenns lj for fabbed wt diffs with larger axles and coils and a full floater system for the rear with discs. (still twisting my arm for dualies in an lj......)

and tabs swb to finish off because he is a freakin lazy pr#@k!

will you be making these axles in 1 off batch, or will they be ongoingly available? eventually i'd like one under my swb vitara, but ive plenty of stuff to get done beforehand

What size tyres will this SAS kit for the vit be safely capable of running? I know its aimed to be more legal then "go big", but yeah...rough idea??

if you have some gearing 33's will be fine.

i have finished the 'roughing' of the axle, just awaiting cutting the splines on the weekend. i'm also investing heavily on tooling for this project so it IS going ahead. i just want things right before going into production.

some pics so far.

if you are making cv's from scratch are you going to be building upgraded cv's for sierra's? or isn't there enough market because of chromo's?
