ok tax time is here and was looking at upgrading my rims got 15x7s at the moment but the offset seems to minimal and seems like its gonna eat my inner guards .. was wondering wat offset people r running on 15x7 and x8s as im thinking about going the wider rim

cheers luke

.p.s my 31s on the rear bearly even stick out of my guards (just to give u an idea of offset)

i have 15x8 -13mm offset, waiting for 15x8 -50mm offset, we'll see how they go. You can get 15x7 with -38mm offset from states

Just have a real good think about it first mate.

While big, negative offset rims usually look the goods, sometimes there not all that practical. I'm not going to dump mine, but I wish I had gone with something that sat closer or even inside the guard.

If your tyre fits nicely on your x7s and you could fix your inner guard problem with a meeting between you and Mr. Hammer, I wouldn't bother with a bigger offset. It'll give you money to spend on some other mods that will better your car.

Yes mum. :finger:

I know you helped, i'm just trying to pass on a lesson learned.
Would've been fine if I was staying down here in Portland, no so practical in the city.

Is that all thats needed for a 89 tintop WT to fit 31x10.5 without killing the tyes on the springs? I'm in the same boat just wanna get the right rims for the 10.5s without chewing them on the spring :?
Was told the 15x8 with -37 was the way gets bloody confusing

Thay will be fine for not hitting the spring, but WILL munch the tyre's on the body.

You will need to massage the guard's on the firewall, there is a seam that stick's out, just hammer that flat on the vertical & down on the horizontal..
& fold the wheel arch back a lil to..

Say you have a 7 inch wide rim, the centre line of that rim is 3.5 inch from the inner edge. Take the measurement from the inner edge of the rim to the mounting surface, if this measurement is less then the centre line then it has negative offset if it is more then you have positive offset.
