i need to convert the front of my ute chassis to wt to fit my lux front diff.
I had the idea of cutting of the front section of a wt chassis and sticking it on my nt ute chassis.

Is there any difference in chassis width between a nt and wt? If it is possible it would half the work needed for the conversion and be a lot easier to do.

even wt is still skinnier than lux spacings at the spring perches.so may aswell outboard your current setup to suit and gusset it up.
i think lux is only about 5-10mm a side wider than wt??

i do have a sky conversion kit to movie the mounts on the diff, so it could save time moving mounts around in the front at least.
Then i would only need to move the rear mounts out to suit the front. At the same time i plan to do ruf with standard shackles.

can anyone measure the distance for me from the outside rails of a wt, where the factory bull bar mounts are? And the inside distance between the two rails at the front?

Mate the chassis rails on a WT and NT are the same, the spring mounts are just set wider out on the WT but that is about it. Mate you would be crazy to cut the chassis, making it strong again is going to be a lot harder than repositioning the spring mounts on the chassis.

Thanks for that.

I was thinking about cutting it because it do have a bend in the front cross-member. this way it would fix that and move the mounts out all in one go.

it could be quite strong with internal plates in the rails and fish plates on the outside with extra reinforcement on top and below the rails.
