I've read a lot about benefits of air vs auto lockers.
I do not see any harm in having an auto locker on the rear, but what are you thoughts on the front diff? anyone had expiriance with that kind of stuff?

if you ahve the money airlockers always win hands down, there is no time an auto locker is better except for saving money
there are times off road when no locker is better, like slippery side slopes and tight muddy bends, auto locker will be annoying

save ya money for airlockers. i used to twist splines all the time with my lockright when it'd engage randomly on the road. which would ultimately lead to shearing the axle
of course ya dont have that drama with it in the front, but if it decided to unlock then lock again while you're on the throttle, i think it'd break cv's every time almost

airlockers aint always better,people have problems all the time with braking the air line to the diff,or wiring probs and cant get the compressor to work so no lockers,then if/when u snap a axle u stuff the locker mech most of the times,then nice and expensive as usuall with arb to fix.

never had a problem with my air lockers in 4 years for that I'll sware buy them, but in saying that, there in my patrol, they dont brake axles.
as for auto lockers never had them so cant coment.
But had plenty welded lockers front and rear they do the job for most things but some time get very annoying, as royce said with the auto lockers same same and for normal off roading your best to disconnect a hub on the front so you can steer, then engage for the hard stuff and watch your cv's shatter.

you were smoking something when you typed that surely?
you can fit a heavy duty line if you are worried you cant install the normal one securley, how can you get wiring problems? the loom is excellent, but then I spose if you bodge it up then it will bite you, same with looking after the compressor, so I guess then yes, if you install it bodgy and dont look after it then it wont all work perfect
tried snapping an axle with an auto locker? the shock load kills it dead, same when you break a CV not to mention the stupid pins and springs that ned replacing all the time

wasnt smoking nothing,i dont no how u get problems with the wiring but everytime im out someones always blowing fuses and other probs,ive had a few lockrites and never had to replace the springs or pins,ive never had any probs with the locker getting damaged when braking cv's or axles,i think u cant beat them.untill i have a massive prob with them im sticking with them,plus both of mine cost $100 so try get 2 airlockrs for that you wouldnt even be able to get the compresor for that

Yes they do! I broke an axel in the datsun with a locker

at the cv or at the center be cause if it broke at the cv with the cv then that doesn't count if it broke at the center then I'm am sorry I'm wrong some do brake and thats a first for me.

Nope not at the cv ... it was almost 1/2 way down the axel from the diff end sheered it clean in 1/2 was almost a smooth clean break
