OK I have spark but now it won't rev without missing like crazy over 3000 rpm.
I have set the timing as per spec 8 degrees BTDC at 850 rpm. Timing mark advances when revved so I assume vacuum advance is working OK.

I'm a lttle dubious about the exchange module. As far as I'm concerned its 1 tooth out from where it should be. This also being the only thing I've altered.

Anymore suggestions? :?

In the wise word's of a racist ranger, "Please explain?"
Do you mean the dizzy? If so how did you set it to 8deg?

I have taken pictures of where the rotor sits at TDC previously.
Just left of the dizzy adjustment locking screw I have had to rotate the rotor 1 tooth clockwise to get it to run. I put it down to being a different module possibly having different lag charateristcs in the electronics.

I just remembered that you have a big cam, do you know what size/grind it is??
You may need to knock your timing up to 10 or even 12deg depending on the size of the cam..

20/60 Nothing on the specs about timing just valve clearances.

if the timing is correct then the teeth are right, might sit a bit different in the housing but the timing mark is the relation with teh dissy pickups to crank, you cant be out by a tooth and it still line up

if its missing at revs and not load dependent then its either not heatsinked properly or probably buggered, ive had a new module do this before, was annoying to try and figure

Yep thats where logic has taken me too. Hopefully a switch aroony before we wheel tomorrow will confirm this.

Can't believe it has happened again. Luckily only 6 km from home.
Need to confirm fully, but excactly the same symptoms as before.
Looks like another trip to the SSCSW.

Has anyone installed an aftermarket ignition system?
