Hi guys, ive had another problem with my 1lt sierra. The system is leaking from a place near where the hose from the top of the radiator connects to the engine. where the hose connects, there is a piece of metal that bolts to the block, and it is leaking out from under that metal piece.
is it worth fixing?

do you mean where the housing that the hose attaches to bolts to the manifold? with 2 12mm bolts?
if so yes, jsut go get a thermostat housing gasket and replace it, take 15 mins and cost maybe $5, cheaper than smoking an engine

I reckon I could do it while holding my breath
hardest part would be cleaning the 2 surfaces up clean with a razor blade or soemthing
make sure the engine is cold when you do it too

sure its not dribbling from the thermostat housing? only other suggestion is the manifold is corroded through but unlikely

ok i found the leak, it the rubber tube that runs from the fire wall to the bottom of the engine, and meets the hose coming from the bottom of the raiator, and then goes into the engine. i think it has something to do with the heater

yeah its a heater hose, probably best to grab a few of the hoses they sell at repco and stuff with the stainless springs on them for making bends and stuff as you can get the proper hose anymore so need to make one fit
best to replace all the little hoses like they cause once one is gone the others arent far off
