hey guys,
getting a efi 1.6 vit motor off a guy that crashed his vitara. I'm just getting a few things together atm and was just curious about the fuel tank situation...
Does the vitara fuel pickup and pump assembly fit into a coily tank? I know they dont fit into the leafy tank but i just recall someone talking about using a coily tank. Also, are the coily tanks the same dimensions as the leafy?
thanks.

Yes
The Vitara pump has to face backwards though, so you need a longish bit of fuel line from it. The tank bolts straight in to a leafy (Widetrack anyway). Its a nice neat solution, as I got fed up with trying to figure out how to package 2 pumps and a surge tank under a SWB Sierra!

If its a SWB vitara just get the tank out of that and put it in your car. Little bit of work but you can do it in an afternoon. Finding a coily tank could take months.
Good luck.

I may have already lined up a coily tank . But if that doesnt go ahead i'll use the lwb vitara tank seeing it comes with the engine.

The lwb tank is much too large to fit in a swb sierra unless you want to do some extreme floor cutting and moving exhaust somewhere else.
